Personal Note – This is one of my favorite “sneaky vegetable” smoothies that’s great for always on-the-go days! Not only is it delicious but the ingredients also work in synergy to boost nutrient intake! It’s like teamwork for your body—some nutrients just play better together. More on the health benefits below!

We ❤️ Smoothies!

And with options like our strawberry watermelon smoothie, tropical turmeric smoothie, and this orange carrot smoothie we never get bored.

Not only are they quick and easy to prepare, but they’re also the perfect way to sneak extra nutrients into your diet! For instance, this carrot smoothie is loaded with veggies, but all your picky eaters will taste is the sweet flavor of the fruit.

An easy breakfast or snack the whole family loves? We call that a win!

Overhead photo of two glasses of carrot smoothies topped with orange slices.

Carrot Orange Smoothie Ingredients

Orange halves, slices carrots, frozen pineapple, yogurt and coconut milk on white countertop.
  • Coconut Milk – This is crucial to blend the ingredients, enhancing the creamy consistency and sweet, fruity flavor. It also provides a boost of healthy fats to help stabilize blood sugar.

Ingredient Swap: Any type of milk will work in this recipe. Just be sure it contains some fat to help nutrient absorption with fat-soluble vitamins!

  • Coconut Yogurt or Greek Yogurt– We love to use coconut milk to create a creamy consistency while keeping this recipe dairy-free. However, Greek yogurt will also work. Use plain or vanilla varieties!
  • Orange Juice – Use orange juice without any added sugar if possible!
  • Carrots – For the best results, use whole carrots that have been peeled and chopped.
  • Pineapple – Use fresh or frozen pineapple for added sweetness. Mango also works well!
  • Honey – For added sweetness. Feel free to substitute maple syrup to keep this carrot smoothie vegan. Honey also adds additional anti-microbial properties to boost immunity even more!

Nutrition Note: Feel free to add your favorite protein powder or collagen for a protein-packed smoothie!

Health Benefits

You probably already know that carrots and fresh fruit are good for you. However, the specific ingredients in this smoothie work together to provide the most bang for your buck in terms of nutrients!

For instance, carrots are an excellent source of vitamin A, biotin, vitamin K1, potassium, and vitamin C. In addition, they’re a great source of fiber, meaning they can help improve digestion.

Then, pineapple adds bromelain, which helps break down proteins in the digestive system, preventing gas and bloating while promoting regularity.

Add in the probiotic-rich yogurt and the vitamin C and fiber from the oranges, and this carrot smoothie is an explosion of vitamins, minerals, and gut-boosting benefits!

How to Make this Orange Carrot Smoothie

  1. Combine. Add all the ingredients to a high-powered blender.
  2. Pulse. Blend until smooth and creamy.

  1. Serve. Adjust the taste, adding more sweetener if desired. Then, divide the orange smoothie between glasses, add orange slices on top, and enjoy!

Common Questions

Can I make this carrot smoothie recipe ahead of time?

Yes, feel free to store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days.

Can I freeze this recipe?

Yes! Pour the smoothie into an ice cube tray, and freeze until solid. Then, transfer the cubes to a sealable bag, and freeze. When you’re ready to serve, let the cubes thaw in a glass in the fridge. Or, add them back to a blender with extra coconut milk, and blend again.

Can carrots be blended raw?

Yes. We recommend peeling the skin and chopping the carrots into pieces to make them easier to blend, but they should mix right in!

What else can I add to this recipe?

Feel free to mix and match any ingredients you have on hand! Banana, spinach, chia seeds, flax seeds, fresh ginger, nutmeg, and walnuts all make great additions.

Description

Prepare this orange carrot smoothie recipe for a sweet, nutritious drink that’s ready in minutes and perfect for quick breakfasts or snacks!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 6 to 8 ounces coconut milk
  • ½ cup coconut yogurt or greek yogurt (plain or vanilla)
  • 6 ounces fresh orange juice
  • 2 large carrots, peeled, chopped (175 grams)*
  • ¾ cup fresh or frozen pineapple or mango (diced)
  • Ice, as needed
  • maple syrup or honey, to taste
  • Optional spices – Pinch of nutmeg, cinnamon, and/or ground ginger
  • Optional protein boost – collagen or protein powder

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients into a high-power blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
  2. Taste the smoothie and add honey or maple syrup, if desired. Divide into glasses, top with optional orange slices, and serve immediately.
  3. Store in the fridge for up to two days.

Notes

Prep Tip – If you don’t have a high-speed blender, I suggest lightly cooking or steaming the carrots first. This will make them easier to blend and give you a smoother consistency

This was a great recipe! I added 2 tbsp. collagen and two scoops vanilla pea proteins powder. It tasted like a orange creamsicle. I think this recipe can be divided into three servings. Very delicious! I can’t wait to make again. 🙂

Ah! I was wondering how you cot the carrot to blend up to smoothie consistency. Juice works. I’m sure I’d especially enjoy this with a cup of fresh pineapple blended in. Thanks for sharing your recipe.
